Day 6 - Provence, Carcassonne
Wednesday, June 8th
We got up bright and early to be on the bus back to France.
We were stopped by border patrol as we left Spain and headed back into France. They borded the bus and checked everyone's passport. They were very friendly about it, for French police anyway.
We were headed to the Provence Region and our first stop on the way was the medieval city of Carcassonne. This city is on top of a hill and contained within walls and a mote. Complete with a real castle!
After the visit we drove to our hotel which was sort of out in the country and was a welcome change from the city living we had been doing. This place was run by a guy who lived there and it was completely surrounded by these gigantic Rosemary shrubs!

We climbed to the top of the towers to get these amazing views. All in all (according to someone's fitbit) we climbed over 70 flights of stairs this day!
